Some things that need to be done may feel like retribution but aren't. It won't be towards a person, but toward the systems that have taken us so far from our founding principles. I enjoyed this article especially as you capture how I feel about Trump. He is a once in a century or more figure, and I pray God keeps and protects him for the good of this nation.

I think even certain people need to be prosecuted for certain crimes. If there are no consequences for any of the criminal activity that has gone on for so long then this new administration, (if he’s elected) is no better than the liberal leaders that allow looting of stores and worse to go unpunished so that others feel free to commit the same crimes and let those who are arrested out without bail to commit more crimes. There is a reason for punishment; it is a deterrent to more bad behavior. Otherwise nothing changes, then what’s the point?

It is hard to see how there can be reconciliation until the leaders of the Democrat Party and of the elites stop their madness. It may take not one but two or three landslide defeats for that to happen.

This is by far the best article written to explain why Trump then, why Trump now and our path forward.

Right thinking Christians know there will be a difficult path forward as we push evil back from government, media, colleges and high schools. “Drain the swamp “ is a catchy phrase until you realize that one great man cannot be the only lightning rod in a struggle this immense. We must each confront the lies of the hateful left when they attack whether it be in family, school, church, synod, government or any institution our friends and family are in.

Unless we can finish with “malice towards none and with charity towards all “ we risk just being another snarling dog in the fight.

Unless conservatives stand up to a man and each show a tiny fraction of Trump’s character we risk four more years of rhetoric while the deep state consolidates power for a final assault on America.

God bless you in the coming fight!

AR, while much to agree with your article, the love affair with Lincoln is misinformed created by the winners of the civil war and sanctioned historical gatekeepers. But the the civil war was initially more about succession then anything else. Lincoln while he believed in liberties and freedoms for all had no real love for the Africans in the nation because the record shows he wanted to deport them elsewhere to live once the war over. Slavery was a secondary issue that was used to make it a personal issue of virtue and for justifying the fight. Lincoln violated civil and constitutional rights of citizens in the north and used the military to further his own political victories. He also oversaw and empowered the worst General in the Union who singlehandedly brought the meaning of "scorched earth" policy to life for no inherantly good moral or military reasons. The gatekeepers turned him into a saint when he really was a deeply flawed individual.

Sure, sure, sure, but a few heads on pikes would go a long way in discouraging others who want to destroy our country. Just sayin.
