Finally, a cogent explanation as to why our leaders on the Right are so ineffective. However, what's still unexplained - why, after all of this time haven't leaders on the Right tackled the problem head-on? As you mentioned, hearings, letters, and nitpicking of the details has clearly failed. A different approach should have been tried years, even decades ago. Recognizing the neutering imposed by the Overton Window, why continue abiding by its constraints?
Yeah earlier this year I had a few debates with a hardcore Democrat, and I always find their tactics interesting, and what they are aware of. In the first we discussed free speech and censorship, and I was amazed to find out that she wasn't even aware of the Twitter Files, despite the fact that she reads NYT and the New Yorker regularly, and listens to similar podcasts. In the latter debate we talked about immigration and she opposed the wall by saying well it won't work, which is ludicrous, while also saying we need sensors. Which you know they don't actually want, it's just a stalling tactic to deflect and prevent the wall from happening. At the end of the day though some of these people seem beyond convincing, as you say.
Brilliant, spot on. All the bickering downstream is useless - I learned this the hard way. No more ... appreciate your writing very much. Learned about you from my friend Steve Neff.
